A Proper Butcher
Our roots lie in the historical medieval town of Conwy where in 1984 our company founder, farmer’s son Ieuan Edwards, opened a butchers shop at the age of 20.
Having established an international award winning Butchers shop and a team of dedicated and skilled butchers, Ieuan decided in 2003 that the time was right to open a manufacturing unit in Conwy. To cope with the rising demand for his award winning sausages, Ieuan established the Traditional Welsh Sausage Co Ltd.
Today, The Traditional Welsh Sausage Co. (Trading under the name Edwards of Conwy) supplies major customers such as Tesco, ASDA, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Aldi and Spar, as well as many other leading UK companies. We supply local and national
food service distributors and catering outlets, and are currently exporting to France, Italy, & Belgium, and also as far as Hong Kong and Malaysia!
The Traditional Welsh Sausage Co. produces a wide range of High quality meat products and operates under strict HACCP systems and procedures. We are BRC accredited and we are justifiably proud of achieving a Grade "AA" in our last audit. Having achieved Red Tractor status for our Pork products in 2013, we are now also part of the Welsh PGI scheme for our Beef products. All of this achievement is thanks to our dedicated management team & highly trained staff.
