Pupils Cook up an Edwards Feast for Charity

We were proud to sponsor the meat for a very special celebration supper recently, which saw parents of Ysgol Y Creuddyn pupils go back to school for a three course meal cooked up by their children.

The event was run via their very successful “Bwyd o Bwys” (“Food Matters”) group, as part of the project every month a group of learners from year 7 and 8 are given the opportunity to work with the school chef in the canteen to cook a healthy meal during school hours for other students to test and see if they would like to include the recipe on the school menu.

Assistant head Owain Gethin Davies said: “As part of the Bwyd o Bwys project a group of pupils wanted to cook a three course meal for the local community to raise money for local charities.

This year the event was held in the school canteen with entertainment and all food cooked by the learners, with support from the chef.

On the menu was: mackerel pate, followed by Welsh Beef Lasagne (Lean Minced Beef provided by Edwards of course!) and finished off with a plum and rhubarb crumble.

Well done and thank you to all involved.
