Barbecue Tips
- Plenty of cold beer.
- Keep all meat in a cool box or refrigerator until time of cooking.
- Don't start cooking until BBQ has preheated.
- Control the rate of cooking by adjusting the heat setting or cooking grid.
- Cooking times are similar to those for grilling.
- Use tongs for turning steaks - spearing them with a fork means losing juices.
- Sausages - if you are cooking a lot simply thread them on long skewers, to turn several at once.
- If you are using wooden skewers, soak them in water - as otherwise they may burn.
- Always make sure that food is piping hot throughout before serving.
- Don't try to cook too much food on the BBQ at once.
- And finally, remember to wash your hands between handling raw and cooked foods.
